What is beside your sewing chair?

Posted by pegsplace on October 27, 2008

I wonder if everyone has a sewing chair…that chair in the livingroom, rec room, diningroom….that you use to watch tv but also stitch in, because you certainly have to keep those hands moving.  Well I have one…will post later and this is what one project that I leave beside the chair and pick up and try to stitch on…that is if I don’t bring something new to the chair?

I’ll have to come back and post a picture of my sewing spot!

Another Giftgiver!

Posted by pegsplace on October 26, 2008

Here is my cat gift giver and I must admit that my cat,  Pye Pye, is hindering me in writing this post!  He is curled up between my arms, on the desk, purring and watching the computer screen….:)….

Christmas giftees…

Posted by pegsplace on October 25, 2008

I have started to sew some little things for Christmas.  At our “Elf” meeting this week I started my giftgiver felt giftees.  I’ve made them in the past, and I needed something to stitch that is easy to bring places…Here is the first one:

I have a cat done too, but I’ll take the picture tomorrow and post.  I am have quite a few cross stitch christmas cards done too…just have to put the stitching into cards.

So, In two months it will be Christmas.  Not exactly my favourite holiday but I want to stitch, so why not for Christmas.

New quilt technique…

Posted by pegsplace on October 18, 2008

…well for me!  I had a quilting workshop today and learned how to do Kay Nichols’ One Fabric Quilts.  So nice.

It is like magic!  One more quilt started and it will be for my bed.  We just changed our bedroom furniture and painted the room blue…

Here is the fabric:

And here is what is shaping up AFTER using Kay Nichols’ technique:

Now how cool is that?  Does anyone come and read my blog?  If so, let me know what you think of this technique.  I only have the first row sewn….I don’t yet know how many blocks I will need but probably many, many, many….:)….

Now I really have to hem my cordouroy (sp?) pants.

Technically…

Posted by pegsplace on October 15, 2008

…..I want to finish projects that I have started so the project that I am starting is a BOM that has been waiting for me….for two years…so TECHNICALLY it is a UFO!  I am doing an applique quilt and I cut out all the freezer paper patterns and started the appliqueing.  I am finding that I love the needle and thread!  The Angel Swap was just the prescription I needed to get into my sewing room and get projects finished as well as learn new techniques.  I am working on balance, work, home, crafting.  What is the trick?  Does anyone who reads this page know?  If so, please do tell!
