Wavering Wednesday

I haven’t gotten into my sewing room today :(, but it is only the beginning of the evening. I have the greenlight for the photo quilt and I am eager to get started on it. My pattern is done, now to start cutting and organizing it. I am “wavering” because I am nervous about it.

I don’t have a photo today, it is just one of those days. Thank goodness that tomorrow is Thursday and then there is Friday.

Hmmmmm….I think my low mood is showing.

I’ll cheer myself up and maybe enlighten you….here is one of my favourite sites:

I really like what Annie is doing with stitching and then putting all of the pieces together. She is so creative.

Tuesday’s Twitterings

I don’t even twitter, but I heard that it is fun and it is fast becoming the “in” thing.

I have been back and forthing between this wonderful lady who owns this site, Chiseled in Cloth.  Margaret Bucklew makes these neat portrait quilts and I am trying to create the pattern for one as a gift to my SIL, of my nephew

Now who can resist this face?  I have tried to do the pattern but I am so unsure of myself that I contacted the woman who I bought the book from and she will do a pattern for a fee, so I sent her four different photos of S above and am waiting back to see if this would be a good candidate for a portrait quilt.  I really hope so.  I love that face.  I mean, who can resist those blue eyes.  My SIL’s brother is my husband and he has the same eyes…I couldn’t resist.

Anyway, time to feed the dog.

Happy Stitching,

Peggy

Angel Swap has OFFICIALLY started!

I just received my secret partner for the Angel Swap.  We have so much in common and she is such an inspiration to me!  I have already started something that will certainly suit her.  It is nice to make stuff for other people … kind of warms the spirit.  Just what the doctor ordered!  And speaking of which I just finished my first morning back to work; taking an extra long lunch to relax.  I sure will be happy to feel normal once again, slowly but surely.

Off for my tea and then back to school.

Keep on stitching.

Sunday’s Baptism

Well, today we have a baptism to go to. My nephew, my one and only on my husband’s side of the family. I really wanted to finish a special gift for him, a portrait photo BUT….my surgery took precedence (sp?) so now it is a UFO. For a gift I ended up getting a small memorybox, from the willow company. It has a family molded onto it, Mother, Father, Older sister and younger brother….just perfect I think for putting those little family treasures in. I also got a little Nike outfit ;)….couldn’t reseist. I also got the token baptism giftee….kind of looks like a paperweight, with a litle boy praying.

Not too long ago I cross stitched a baby bib for an acquaintance’s granddaughter, I did two for the above baby but didn’t take any pictures…so in the spirit of babies, here is the recent bib. I also want to start posting my pictures of the crafting I do.  I hadn’t really noticed just how much I do.

I love these bibs from Charlescraft and I usually make them for my friends and relatives. I would really like to make my own from start to finish but it is the cross stitch band that is inserted into them that gives me the trouble.

Time to get going…a little stitching and then out for the day.

Happy Stitching,

Peggy

Saturday Signs

I am getting back into my sewing room after three weeks of surgery recovery and I have chosen to start a small cross stitching project, so I am setting it up.  I am going to finish it by incorporating it into some sort of quilty project.  Of course the progress will be photographed here.

Here is friendship journal that I made for a long lost friend…long story but we have reunited and to make up for all those lost years I made a friendship journal for R’s birthday.

I wrote it in it, added pictures, personalized it and then sent it to her.  The concept is for each of us to write in it and then send it back and forth to each other.  We can write about anything, what is going on now, memories, what has happened over the years.  Here is a picture of it with a picture inserted into the centre.  I got the pattern idea from Jean Boyd  .

The wall hanging down below is from Jean Boyd’s patterns  too.  I am drawn to making memories in quilts.  As for the material for this journal, I think that I got it at Frabricland and when I decided to make the journal cover I fussycut it.  Right now the journal is in my hands and I am so behind with it.  But I am getting back into my routine.  I don’t really have a choice now, work starts on Monday.

Well, it is off to Walmart and Carleton cards and….you get the drift, to find something suitable for a baptism that we are going to tomorrow.  I didn’t have the time to make something, although I had an excellent idea.  I will still do my excellent idea but without the pressure.  I’m never sure if my inlaws like what I make them :(…..kind of a lack of confidence thing.

Well, catch you later and do something creative today, I know that I will.

Back again

…after a long absence but I really want to keep on blogging.  There is so much inspiration on so many different blogs and I want to participate.  Here is what I have signed  up for :

Angel Swap

I get my partner’s name on Monday and I  am eager to start.

I have one special message for a Miss Kate, you know who you are…I know that I didn’t send my postcard but it will get there.  I really hate unfinished business.  The only excuse is that life got me.   Can that be an excuse?

So…I am back!
