WIP Wednesday for the Needle and Thread Network Gang!

At least I’m getting in here and posting now.  It is motivating to know that others are out there doing their stuff.  I worked on my embroidery this week.

Here it is soaking in cold water because I am using “Transfer Eze” for the transfer.

I also put together the windmills for block number 1, the centre block:

I’m following the directions for the blocks with each month.  I forgot to take a picture of the 3rd block that I am just starting.

I also received some more 6-word memoirs from my students and they are stunning! I finally found a fabric marker that writes well.  They are called “Stained by Sharpies” and come in a package of 8 I think.  So vibrant! I got them at Staples for those interested.

I think that I am going to photocopy these in colour and work with the images.  I am starting to get a lot.

Well, I am linking up with The Needle and Thread Network, so got on and visit everyone! That’s where I am headed.  I should be back in to post my 3rd block.  I am also going to try to get my windmill colours decided so that the rows can go together.

Happy Stitching everyone!

  1. I aspire to start a redwork project! I have been collecting OLD embroidery sheets for quite a while now. I must have missed a previous explaination, what are the 6 word blocks for? also have you tested those pens for bleed or colour fastness? I have been wanting to find something to use for labels.

  2. The word memoirs will make a very special quilt. I hope you will share more of your process as you go along.
